Announcing the launch team for *Why I am Protestant*
Join me on the publishing journey for my new book!
Fellow Pilgrims,
You’re invited to join the launch team for my new book Why I am Protestant, coming in September.
You don’t need any special knowledge or experience to join.
What is a launch team?
It’s a group of people who join a book’s author to create buzz about a new book before it’s released. Team members don’t need any special expertise. If you’re interested in the book, and you’d like to share that interest with the world, I’d love for you to join us! The launch team is where you want to be, if you want special access to early conversation about the book with me, the author.
What is the book about?
Why I am Protestant is part theology, part story.
It’s an exploration of my own Protestant convictions and reasons for being a Christian, and I hope it will encourage other Protestants, as well as provide a starting point for great conversations between Christians of different traditions.
The book was written for a world in which so many of us struggle with church. For me, the question is “how can you be a Christian in a broken church?” and a huge part of the answer is “by being Protestant.”
The book:
Demonstrates that Protestant ecclesiology is needed by the church
Addresses critiques of Protestantism head-on
Provides theologically grounded reflections on finding joy and spiritual nourishment in the Protestant tradition
Highlights why Protestant theology is well-suited to addressing modern faith challenges
Celebrates the Protestant tradition in both its beauty and its imperfections
What are the perks for launch team members?
+ Receive an early, free digital copy of the book, so you can read before it is even released!
+ Get access to a private facebook group for exclusive conversation with the author (me!) and a community of readers. Learn more about the book and the publishing process along the way, and read and discuss along with the team. It’s your own, private, author-led book club.
+ As a gift from me, get a free digital download of a collage I created exclusively for launch team members. The collage is an artistic meditation on the beauty and brokenness of the church.
What do team members do?
+ read the book (before anyone else!)
+ recommend the book to others
+ review the book on Amazon, Goodreads, or other sites
+ enjoy the conversation in the launch team facebook group
How do I join?
Before joining the launch team, we ask that you preorder a copy of the book. When you’ve done that, go to this link to fill out a quick and easy application.
Any questions?
Drop them into the comments on this post.
Grace & peace,
BFJ
Is God calling you to become a doctor of the church? Maybe today is the day to start putting together your application to study with me at Northern Seminary in the D.Min. program in theology.
As a retired UCC minister and an eager read/reviewer for over a decade I am very interested in joining your team. revals125.as@gmail.com or direct message me on Substack
If I'm not 100% sure I *am* still a Protestant would it be silly to join??
